On the 25th January 2004, 08405 arrived at Toton for repairs / attention and the fitting of the TPWS equipment. After completion, the 08 was moved to the adjacent training compound, where it awaited removal by road. By the 3rd February, it was loaded and despatched south to Temple Mills, where it was unloaded later on. The 27th May, saw the 08 put into store, consequently transfering to the WNTR pool. With repairs completed, 08405 was reinstated to WSLN and traffic on the 1st July.

On the 29th April 2009, 08405 left Avonmouth by road, being taken north to the East Midlands, to where it was deposited at Toton, later in the day. Shortly after its arrival, a E exam was started on the 08. During this time, it was stored WNTR on the 7th May. With the exam all completed, 08405 was reinstated to traffic on the 16th June, transferring to the WSSN pool.

Update: Sometime around the start of december, 08405 was taken inside Toton, where it will be fitted with the remote control equipment. Consequently, on the 23rd, it was placed into store and WNTR.
