Whilst out of use at Toton TMD, 08516 was officially stored on the 5th February 2004. On the 17th though, it was reinstated back to traffic. By the 27th and repairs need once again, it was put back into store. The 24th May, saw the 08 loaded onto road transport, ready for departure to Bristol Barton Hill. The next morning, as it was leaving Toton, one of the trailer wheels suffered a flat tyre and the whole esemble was moved to a local supermarket car park, where the puncture was repaired shortly after. The lorry and load finally reached the South West the next day ( 26th ) without incident. On the 27th, the 08 re-entered traffic, acting as the depot pilot.

It currently resides at Bristol Barton Hill TMD.
