Notes : Whilst at Knottingley, on the 27th February 2004, it was officially put into store. Exactly 3 months later, 08578 was on the road, being taken south on the 27th May. Late evening, it arrived in the West Midlands, to where it was unloaded at Bescot. Following repairs, it was reinstated to traffic on the 25th June, swopping from WSXX to the WSWM active pool.

Previously operating as the Forders Yard pilot, 08578 was taken away by road, leaving Stewartby on the 8th / 9th May 2009. En-route to South Yorkshire, it was deposited at Doncaster Carr later on in the day. Whilst recieving its exam, it was transferred pools on the 3rd June, moving from WSSN to WFMU. Following on from its period in the Fleet Management WFMU pool, on the 19th June, 08578 was officially stored WNTS at Doncaster Carr. Replacing the defective 08703 at Sheerness, 08578 left for Kent on the 12th August. Departing South Yorkshire early afternoon, the 08 was deposited at Sheerness Steel Terminal late evening. On the 19th August, it was officially reinstated to traffic, moving from WNTS to the active WSSN pool.
