On the 18th November 2004, 08616 left Tyseley for Doncaster by road. Being deposited at Wabtec a few hours later, it was to recieve a much needed overhaul, as its last was at Swindon Works in the 1980's!

To celebrate the 100 years of continous operations at Tyseley, the depot hosted an open day on the 28th June 2008, where 08616 lost its COOKIE nameplate, in favour of the more traditional TYSELEY 100. It also recieved the London Midland livery, superceeding its previous GWR green colours.

Currently operates at Tyseley Carriage Sidings / Yard.
