After being used as a spares donor at the LH Group, 08731 left Barton under Needwood on the 16th April 2004, and was taken by road to the Foster Yeoman depot in Merehead.

Sometime around the 12th August 2008, was removed from Merehead and taken to the Bodmin & Wenford Railway for spares recovery. After the stripping of spares at Bodmin, 08731 was returned back to the Foster Yeoman site at Merehead on the 29th August.

Sometime during March 2009, 08731 left Merehead by road, and taken to Frome, from where it was believed to be deposited at JW Ransome & Sons, a local scrap dealer. Its already heavily stripped body, was broken up on site shortly after.
