Whilst at Fort William, 08735 was stored on the 4th December 1999, transferring into the WSXX pool.

With it being out of use at Scunthorpe, the EWS liveried 08 was moved the short distance to Immingham sometime around the 15th April 2004. Two days later, on the 17th April, it was stored WNTR at the TMD. With the completion of repairs, it was reinstated to traffic on the 22nd June, being transferred to the WSEM pool. With his move, it was consequently taken back to the steel works at Scunthorpe.

On the evening of the 9th August 2008, 08735 was moved to Scunthorpe Steel Works, replacing the former pilot and Immingham bound, 08685.

Out of use for a short while, 08735 was removed by road on the 22nd July 2009. With 09019 arriving at Immingham Reception Sidings, the empty low loader headed off east to Scunthorpe, where the EWS liveried 08 was loaded. On departure, it was taken the short distance south, being deposited at Doncaster Carr shortly after. Whilst undergoing repairs and assessment, the EWS liveried 08 was transferred to store on the 15th October, moving from WSSI to the WNTR pool. Repairs all completed at Doncaster Carr, 08735 was reinstated back to traffic on the 6th November, moving to the WSSN pool. That morning, it left the depot by road, en-route to Toton, to where it will be fitted with the RC equipment.

Update: Early afternoon on the 23rd December, 08735 left the East Midlands by road, departing Toton just after 13.00. En-route to Eastleigh Yard, is was deposited ??
