Status : Stored
Current Livery : RES
Pool Code : WNTR

Whilst at Northampton, 08742 was put into store on the 27th February 2004. With repairs completed, it was reinstated to WSWM and traffic on the 15th April.
Officially stored in September 2005 at Bescot TMD, where it spent 3 years dumped in the yard and the depot complex.
By the 3rd April 2008, 08742 was reinstated to active use, being transferred out of the WNXX stored unservicable pool into WSSN, the EWS network 08/09 pool. The RES liveried shunter was then transported to the IRF terminal at Daventry on the 23rd April 2008, replacing the former pilot, 08907.
With repairs possibly pending, 08742 was removed from Daventry on the evening of the 24th September 2009, from where it was taken to Goodmans Yard for an overnight stop-over. Continuing its journey the following morning, it left the Midlands for South Yorkshire, being deposited at Doncaster Carr around mid day. Following repairs to its radiator, 08742 was released from Doncaster, moving out by road on the 28th October. Leaving South Yorkshire around dinner time, it headed south for the East Midlands, to where it was deposited at Toton by mid afternoon for the possible fitment of the RC equipment. On the 13th November, the RES liveried 08 was transferred to store, moving from WSSN to WNTR.
