Notes : Whilst at Crewe EMD, 08842 was officially put into store on the 27th February 2004. On the 9th April, it was loaded and taken south to Old Oak Common, from where it was reinstated to WSLN and traffic on the 22nd. Sometime around the month of June, it had made its way across London, with Temple Mills its new residency. On the 1st July, it was put to store, moving to the WNTR pool. By the 15th though, it was back in active traffic, transferring to WSLN again.

From Carlisle Kingmoor, it was deposited at Bescot on the 2nd December 2006 for cover, due to Bescot having no operational shunters available. During its time in the West Midlands, 08842 spent its time working in the Engineers Yard and North Yard.

On the 25th May 2007 though, due to repairs been needed, it was consequently dumped at the rear of the shed.

By early May 2008, it had moved down to the centre yard with all the other stored shunters and on the 9th, 08842 was officially put into store. Currently, it resides halfway down the north yard, on the far line. Keeping 08538 for company, it did have a short spell in the depot area, due to it been used as a spares donor.
