Whilst languishing at Temple Mills, 08918 was transferred into the WNTR pool and storage on the 22nd April 2004. On the 19th May, it left by road to Wembley, being deposited in North London, shortly after. Consequently, on the 27th May, the 08 was reinstated to traffic and the WSLN pool.
Although officially stored in July 2005 at Old Oak Common T&RSMD, 08918 still saw occasional work in and around the depot complex.
On the 12th May 2009, 08918 was loaded at Old Oak Common. Either that evening or the following morning, it left West London, en-route for the East Midlands, to where it was deposited at Toton on the 13th.
Can currently be found languishing in the headshunt at Toton.
