Still outside here on 24/5 were 08891, 08652 and 08530.

The latter is engineless, frame and cab only.

Regards

Brian

Went past Thursday & Friday , both Liner 08s looked to be complete, unless one has changed ? 08891 was closest to the shed.

I might pop up there on sunday. Haven't been for a while and the F / Liners are both due to be leaving soon, so with a bit of luck, some new arrivals may have landed.

I couldn't say for sure, Tel. 08530 will be the first one to leave i would imagine, mainly because of the length of time its been there ( arrived 24th Dec. )

After that, its anybody's quess. 08531 arrived around the 24th Feb, so that should be nearly finished. Both 530 & 531 were stripped down to the bare bones when i was last up there ( 11th May ), so they were obvioulsly having a major overhaul.

08652 arrived late March, so that should be leaving shortly. I'm led to believe, 652 only recieved / recieving a minor overhaul, so hopefully, it should be heading back down to Whatley fairly soon.

08891 on the other hand, arrived on the 8th May, but i'm unsure to what's happening with this one, in regards to overhauls etc.

With the departure of at least two shunters, that leaves space for some new arrivals. The Trafford Park duo, 08737 and 08785 are due overhauls soon i think, so one or both might be coming south shortly.

In answer to your question Tel, if you can, i'd try and get there a bit sooner, otherwise you might miss out for your photos. I'm hopefully going this weekend, so i'll keep you posted on what's going on.

Steve

Popped into the LH Group tonight. Only 08531 and 08891 ( nearest the shed ) were on show.

08531 looks like it's nearly finished. Since the last time i viewed it, its had a new set of buffers and the bodywork is all completed and put back together. I'm guessing that's the next to leave, probably sometime in the next week or so.

08891 on the other hand, i would say it's about a week away from being finished. It's still missing its cab end buffers and looks like the engine is still being worked on.

Just a quickie about visiting the LH Group. It's not advisable to go wearing shorts and a t-shirt. On the path, just over the style, the nettles are between 3 - 5ft hgh at the moment. I went wearing trackie bottoms today and the nettles still stung me legs.

It sounds like a new 08 has arrived then. At least one of the two i seen last sunday, looked virtually ready to leave, so hopefully, there's a new arrival. I'll be there sometime on sunday, so i'll post an update to what's on site, when i come back.

Just got back from the LH Group. I wish someone would cut them flamin' nettles  Evil or Very Mad  I'm well over 6ft and the buggers still stung the side of my neck. Mind you, i did stumble on a brick into them, so i've got no one to blame but myself  Embarassed  Confused

Right then Lateliner, the stripped 08 is 530. The cab is intact, there are boards where the side windows should be. All the engine compartment is empty and most of the body is on the floor, next to the loco. This one is going nowhere fast. The picture's not the best, due to the dirty great fence in the way  Rolling Eyes

Next to 530 is 08531. There doesn't seem to be much left to finished with this one, so i'm guessing it'll be on its way shortly, maybe within the next week or so.

The third F / Liner 08 on site is 891. This is parked nearest the footpath. This also looks ready to be leaving shortly. Its had a new set of buffers, but the body compartment still looks like it's being worked on. I would imagine it'll be gone in the next fortnight.

No probs, glad to help.

I can't see them leaving just yet. Not before you get there anyway. I think 08531 will probably leave sometime this week. If 08575 is coming up from Southampton for repairs, which i've no doubt it will, then i think 531 will replace it at Maritime, using the same low loader.

I passed by on the train Sunday night. Is that a LT battery loco next to the fence on the Burton side and what are the two industrial shunters?
