015XXSimple number queries please folks;Fleet Status on WNXX lists 01561 "Kathryn" in blue & silver livery and 01562 "Black Beast" in black livery at Croft Quarry. This site however lists the Croft pair as 01562 and 01572. Has "Kathryn" been scrapped and replaced or merely renumbered please? If 01572 is a replacement, any idea of the livery please? Similarly at T J Thompson's WNXX lists 01554 "Helen" in green and 01555 "James" in red livery. Here 01554 has disappeared, 01555 is still there, but has now been joined by 01567, 68 & 69. |

01572 has been renumbered from 01561. Fleet Status needs badly updating, but i don't envy Ian with that site. I've enough to do on this one, so god knows what he has to go through 
As for the livery, i'm not 100% sure, but i think it's the white Bardon Aggregates colours.
01554 is now 01568, still at Thomson's and in green. All the others you've mentioned Mart, are in green also, still at Thomson's. hope that helps a bit Steve |

It would appear that:
01568 has been renumbered 01554 01572 has been renumbered 01561 On a different subject what is the id of 01599? Some sources suggest a "ghost" loco for TOPS training purposes, others mention D9529 (which also carries number 14029). 01599 has, according to TOPS, recently been transferred from pool MBDL to WFMU! Can any one help. Any information on TOPS would be very useful. NJH |

According to my source Norm, 01599 is at Toton, arriving there at 10:50, on the 26th March.
That was taken from TOPS, so make of that what you will. Bit strange really, going to Toton

Thanks Steve. According to a TOPS list seen on 20 March, the current location of 01599 was Toton TMD! Until there is positive id of a loco perhaps we should treat this as a "ghost" number.

Been doing a bit of t'internet research into the 01/5s.
I'm led to believe the green loco in this pic is 01555, formerly named James, at Thomson's, but has been out of use for about three years (thanks to CLB for the pic) http://i499.photobucket.com/albums/rr358/crazylegsbob/P2070023.jpg Also at Thomson's, all in green, are 01567 Elizabeth (red nameplate), 01568 (formerly 01554) Helen (red nameplate) and 01569 Emma (black nameplate). Pretty certain 01599 is Class 14 D9529, seen at Bardon Hill quarry in January I'm not aware of any renumberings surrounding 01561 - and can't find any record of an 01572. 01562 was in white, with blue solebar/skirt in April 2007. http://www.uklocos.com/dieselpics/th257-Croft%2013-04-07.jpg (Not my pic) Also, apparently now carries the name Chug, rather than Black Beast. Thanks for that. Last time I passed Croft I couldn't see the black loco, but I did see a "new" loco in white & blue. That livery appears to be catching as I posted yesterday about another "new" loco at Snailwell; http://shunterspot.myfreeforum.org/about1282.html Now the green loco at Snailwell has 410 on it's cabside. The WNXX Fleet Status shows 422 = 01583, 425 = 01507, 428 = 01508 and 433 = 01509. Is either loco at Snailwell an 015XX please? This thread is going to run & run.

410 isn't an 01/5.
It's a former North British-built Army loco, and still carries its Army number. The other at Snailwell, I believe, is Ruston no 468048 - again not an 01/5. Suggest you try www.uklocos.com - has an excellent searchable database for industrial shunters, including 01/5s. It includes latest sightings so you can see how up to date it is. However, searching under location can be difficult - eg Long Marston is actually filed as Motorail Logistics and Snailwell is under European Metal Recycling. |

Thanks for the link, but it didn't answer another query I have.
April last year I travelled to Canterbury and passing by Ashford, there was a load of PW wagons and amongst them were a pair of industrial shunters. I'm sorry I've lost my notes, so cannot describe them too well, but one was in mock SE&CR licery. Presumably they would need to be in the 015XX range if they were to move under their own power on NR metals? |

Can't help with both, but the SE&CR shunter is now at Booths
http://dan43004.fotopic.net/p45764158.html (again not my pic) Search for number 426 on UKloco and it brings it up, plus history of where it's been. But believe both were restricted to private tracks and therefore not NR registered. |
