During September 2007, 08445 was used in the Manchester Metrolink rebuild, on hire from EWS. Towards the end of February 2008, it was transferred from the ELR at Bury, to the Corus sidings at Castleton.
Early wednesday morning ( 18th February 2009 ), 08445 left Castleton en-route to Ketton, to where it was deposited mid morning. Due to the reliabilty of the other shunters on site at Ketton, RMS hired 08445 in from Railshunt UK, until a full time replacement could be found. Due to the arrival of 08613 at the cement works, on the 7th April, 08445 was removed from Ketton by road, en-route to Dee Marsh. Back on the move yet again, it left Dee Marsh on the 22nd July, possibily en-route to RMS Locotec for overhaul.
