After being re-sold from BR, 08447 was quickly purchased by the J G Russell Group. Its sister group, Deanside Transit LTD, became its new home in January 1995, where it arrived at the Hillingdon based complex, situated a few miles West of Glasgow.
Due to the demise of rail traffic, all four shunters on site were transferred to Long Marston for a possible overhaul. 08447, the newest and the 2nd of the fleet to leave, was taken south from Deanside Transit on the 12th June 2007, arriving in Warwickshire the following day.
Sometime during May 2008 and whilst undergoing an overhaul, 08447 recieved a lilac color scheme, superseding the Russell yellow livery. On the 13th June, the shunter left Long Marston by road, en-route north back to Deanside Transit, where it currently resides.
