By the 11th March 2008, as part of the continuing run down at Immingham TMD, 08509 was moved out to the nearby C&W yard, slightly to the north of the depot perimeter. Following EWS's decision to put 08509 up for sale, it was purchased by CF Booth's sometime around the end of December.
On the morning of the 18th February 2009, it was removed from Immingham by road, and deposited at its new owners in Rotherham, shortly after. The disposal of 08509 at CF Booth's, was completed on the 8th April.
