Previously at Trafford Park, it was transported to the LH Group during the end of May 2007 for repairs / attention. When work was complete ( 10.11.07 ), 08585 was taken by road to the Chasewater Railway for running in and a day later, was loaded back onto a low loader for transfer back to the LH Group. After rectification, it was reloaded and taken south to Southampton Maritime a few days later.
By the 24th February 2008, it had replaced 08531 at Tilbury FLT. On the afternoon of the 31st July, 08585 left Tilbury by road and was deposited at Southampton Maritime later on in the day. This move co-incided of the departure of 08077, which left Southampton shortly after its arrival.
Due to the departure of 08531 at Tilbury, 08585 was removed from Southampton Maritime on the 2nd April 2009, en-route to Essex, to where it was deposited at the FLT late afternoon. With the arrival of 08691 at Tilbury, 08585 was relieved of its duties at the FLT, being removed by road on the 9th November. En-route back home to Southampton, the FLT liveried 08 was deposited at Maritime in the evening.
