It currently resides at the Midland Railway Centre. Sometime around the end of July, beginning of August 2009, 08590 entered the shed at Swanwick, from where it was rubbed down in readiness for a repaint. Outshopped in BR blue, the 08 made a timely appearance at the MRC's diesel gala, held on the 29th and 30th August. The first day of the event, 08590 was named Red Lion at Swanwick, from where it performed freight train demonstrations through out the day.
