Sometime in November 1993, 08593 was outshopped from the depot at Colchester, sporting a rather striking BR black livery, complete with red lining around the body panels. It also had the unofficial name of ' Colchester TMD ' written on the toolbox.
With the shunter experiencing faults, 08593 was stored WNTR at Warrington on the 8th May 2004. By the 27th though, it was back in active traffic, being reinstated to the WSWM pool.
Previously working as one of the Dee Marsh yard pilots, it was transferred to Toton by the 7th February 2008, where it was consequently stored. During the end of the month, 08593 was moved from the depot area to the nearby compound, where it currently resides.
