Out of use and needing repairs, sometime towards the end of June 2004, 08600 left the Dawson's complex in Middlesbrough, taking the short distance to Thornaby by road. Ready for traffic again, it was loaded and removed on the 2nd July, being deposited back at its home, shortly after.
Previously at AV Dawson's in Middlesbrough, on the 13th October 2008, 08600 left Teeside by road, en-route to the LH Group for repairs and overhaul. It was taken by road, deposited at Barton under Needwood later on the same day.
With overhaul completed, 08600 left the LH Group on the morning of the 26th March 2009 by road, en-route back to Middlesbrough, from where it was unloaded sometime around teatime.
