08605/665/685 but not 615!!!Help me with this one as the same shunter... or is it four... has/have been seen on the same low loader...or is that four as well,going North,South,East and West on the M18...or is that the M1 
As I'm planning a trip to Sheerness next Thursday to eyeball 08578,will go via Hoo to see if 08605 has landed there...rest are a bit far North for me and as I have just got back from my twice-annual jaunt north of Derby,I'll leave that to you guys. Might pop into Bounds Green to see 08615 if get time....or is that still North of the border

08615 - still at Craigentinny 08665 - still at Healey Mills 08685 - possibly at Donny Carr from Immingham Oh, and 08578 - nowhere near Sheerness, but enjoy the ride anyway

According to the magic box 08605 is at Toton and if you do end up at Hoo, Martin, the current shunter there is 60004!!!!! | ||||||

It indeed does. It in fact, could be at Toton, but as i've yet to recieve any sightings of it being there, i'll pass judgement on TOPS. Personally, i can't see the reason why it would be dropped off at Toton, given that 08405 is very much active in and around the yard. 08480 seems to be used as the depot pilot aswell, so that's both areas covered. Hoo Junction on the other hand, is where i think it is currently based. 08804 is the only active shunter down there, due to 09005 being stored since the beginning of July. I would imagine that, if 08605 has arrived, 09005 would be removed to either Toton or Doncaster Carr, but i've not had any reports of this being seen on the motorway or anywhere else for that matter

08665 is finally on the move lads, being tripped to Ferrybridge behind 66250. This happened on wednesday ( 15th ).
Why to Ferrybridge though, is a bit strange. According to WNXX, 08665 has now been de-registered from TOPS, so it will meet its owners at some point. Why take it to Ferrybridge, when it can be removed by road from Horbury. I suppose it could be cut up on site, but i would imagine that could be done at Horbury also. This was on the "Latest News" page of WNXX, so 605 is at Donny not Toton;
Shunter notes... 08665, still at Healey Mills? has been de-registered from WNSO. This indicates that its movement to Booths, Rotherham may be in progress or have taken place already. DBS have reinstated seen Class 08s, 08605 08664 and 08711 at Doncaster Carr, 08701 and 08804 at Toton, 08886 at Bescot and 08921 at Wigan, from variously WNTR or WNTS to WFMU. |

This is beginning to pee me off now 
First it was 08615 that was seen. That turned out to be fibs. We worked it out that it could've been 08605. Although WNXX could be wrong, it looks like this is still at Doncaster. So, working out the 086x5 numbers, 08685 is the only one that i can come up with, as this was stored at Immingham. If it was, that would've been dropped off at Toton, as it was seen on the M1 near Chesterfield. I've yet to have any sightings of it being at Toton, or anywhere else, so i'm getting a bit perplexed with it all. Alternatively, it could've been 08695 from Barrow Hill. This was positively seen, still at Barrow Hill on the 12th / 13th September, so it couldn't have been this one, as the original sighting of 086x5 was the 9th Sep. I'm clean out of anymore ideas

According to TOPS - Origin: Doncaster, Last Location: Toton. Subject to the magic box being correct this was the Cl.08 seen on the move on 9/9. Suspect that the present TOPS location was updated when 08605 was transferred from WNTS to WFMU a day or so ago. NJH |

Mystery solved re 08605-sighting by brian h on locoscene at Soho...or could that be 08805
I'm leaning towards its still tucked up in the shed at Donny as Martyn Nevatt has a full listing and photo's on his site 29/8. Add to that in the week in question three 08's arrived at Toton and were all off-loaded at the Balfour Beatty sidings and easily recorded,it seems unlikely 08605 would have slipped under the radar. Hoo knows

I've seen 08605..........
three times at York between Sep 89 and Jul 91, then at Knottingley twice in Oct 91 and Jun 95. Not seen since though

Agree with everything above. Very very unlikely that it would've left Donny without anybody posting about the move, so i'm like you Mart, and still think it is tucked away at Carr.
The sighting of 08615 on Freightmaster Norm ? How positive do you think that was, cause now we are tending to think it wasn't 08605 on the move, maybe it was 08615 after all

Giving that one is in Wabtec black and the other EWS red,should have been a clue to the loco's identity

Nevertheless,I'll still go through Hoo on Thursday to confirm whats about if I still go to Sheerness to see the empty yard. Considering a trip to Churnet Valley/Crewe and Shotton now. Martin |

Steve, as I said earlier, concering 08605, an up to date positive sighting is needed. TOPS reports showing 08605 have appeared on FMi and onother gen site.

Its just that I need 3 out of the 4 for sighting for a number of years so trying to keep tabs as on holiday w/c 28/9 so might have a chance to go and find one or two of them. Mind you,same applies to 08445

Locoscene reported a sighting of 08615 at Craigentinny today, or yesterday. One of the two, but 'twas definately there, so the mystery still goes on. Perhaps it left EC, went to Wembley for tyre turning, then went back up north. All in a matter of 3/4 days. Possible me thinks
Of course, now i remember about 08578 ( private joke folks )

I asked on the WNXX forum - got about 80 odd views, and not one single reply 
The ever reliable Abrail, states that is at the ELR. It was yonks ago, when the Metrolink was been extended, but not now. Whitemoor Yard was a strong possibility, but i've had 3 texts over the weekend, saying that the only shunter there is the class 73. Of course, it could be hidden away, but to have 3 texts of 3 different people - 1 on saturday morning, 1 on sunday morning and the other on sunday evening, all say that they couldn't see it. Back at Castleton ? Very doubtful given it was heading east towards Nottingham. Looking at the map, the only other places it could've headed to, was, Old Dalby - not a chance, as 47714 has just gone there on hire. Boston Docks - even more doubtful, given the fact that 03112 and 08704 are currently there. The clutching at straws list would be the Nene Valley Railway, Mid & North Norfolk Railway, Norwich, the Colne Valley Railway or Felixstowe. We can count out Felixstowe and none of the above websites have it listed. Norwich could be a possibilty, as 08871 is currently at Wabtec. But as we haven't had any positive sightings of it being down there, this will run and run

Panic over 08605 sitting inside of No4 Rd at Toton under repair.Also on No4 road are 08879/706/495 RC fitted/804 all under repair.
Jack Road 08784/466/951 All under repair Outside on Remote Control test with Wagon 08757. 08701 now awaiting Load Bank after repairs complete. 08389 on Fuel Tank road. 08397 South end depot with 08783. 08954/918 North Headshunt Inside of Toton resembled Swindon Works from the 80's. Was told Doncaster finishing off the 08/09 they got and all future work will be undertaken at Toton only. 08665 sitting inside Booths complex. |

Great news at last on 605 but if its inside presumably not available for a pic  .
What about 783, 397, 951( where is the jack road ) and 954 are they in any sort of possition to be photoed, just asking as im going to call in on the way to the Peak Rail on Sunday.

totonhiya allregarding road 15 at toton. all bays have numbers above them if you are stood on the A52[brian clough way] road bridge looking into toton depot SIMPLE from the left road 1 to 10 and jutting out road 11 to 15 so road 15 is last road. you will need good bino,s or zoom lens pray for a sunny day so all doors will be open check it out on these old photos http://i499.photobucket.com/albums/rr358/crazylegsbob/P7180010.jpg so 08604 will be in fourh road from the left http://i499.photobucket.com/albums/rr358/crazylegsbob/P7180002.jpg and 08951 would be in 15th from the left OR first from the right.

Positive sighting of 08615 today at EC via Jeff on UKRail so thats this thread put to bed....until 08605 is fit and well and then we will have to wait for the next low loader sighting
