Out of use for a while, 08605 has been stored at Mossend. Moving from its previous pool, WSSN, on the 2nd July 2009, it was transferred to WNTS. Late evening on the 22nd July, 08993 arrived at Mossend to replace to defective 08605. Utilising the road transport, the stored shunter was loaded, leaving Scotland for Doncaster Carr, to where it was deposited early morning, the next day ( 23rd ). Leaving Doncaster on the 9th September, 08605 was en-route south to Toton for repairs. Although it was still was recieving attention, ten days later ( 19th ), the EWS liveried 08 was reinstated to traffic, moving from WNTS to WFMU. On the 4th November though, it was placed back in store and WNTR. Whilst undergoing repairs at Toton, it was fitted with the remote control equipment. With most of the repairs near enough completed, it was out on the 26th November, performing RC tests in the depot area.
Update: Currently being used as the yard pilot at Toton, on the 23rd December, it was reinstated to traffic and the WSSN pool.
