Sometime around the 12th June 2008, 08643 was moved to the West Somerset Railway, where it spent a few days performing trip workings between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard. Loaded and returned to Merehead on the 14th June, 08643 was used as an static exhibit at the Mendip Rail Open Day, 22nd June.
Due to 08947 suffering collision damage at Whatley, 08643 was dispatched to cover for the usual pilot, moving the short distance from the Foster Yeoman depot at Merehead, sometime around the beginning of February 2009.
Currently at Whatley Quarry.
