Previously at Oxley, was transferred to Bescot on the 25th May 2007.

On the 6th June 2008, 08653 was taken away from Bescot by road and was deposited at Hams Hall FLT, replacing 08994.

On the 27th or 28th January 2009, 08653 left Hams Hall, and was deposited at Bescot for repairs. Whilst recieving the repairs, it was transferred into the WNTS pool and subsequently stored on the 13th February. With everything completed, 08653 was reinstated back to traffic and the WSSN pool on the 17th February. Still at Bescot, on the 25th February, was once again placed into store and WNTS. With its C exam completed sometime around the end of September, the 08 will most likely to be reinstated to traffic very shortly. Sometime around the 3rd or 4th September, 08653 left Bescot for Crewe EMD, for tyre turning. From here, it continued its journey to Warrington Arpley, minus its con rods. Late evening on the 4th, it was deposited at the TMD, and shortly after, it was reunited with a set of con rods. Although seeing active use since arriving at Warrington, the 08 wasn't officially reinstated to traffic until the 25th September, where it was moved from WNTS to WSSN. On the 15th October though, it was transferred back to store and WNTR. Released back into traffic on the 8th December, 08653 has been reinstated to WSSN, moving from the WNTR storage pool.
