Whilst out of use at Doncaster Carr, 08665 was put into store on the 5th February 2004. The 25th May saw the 08 move west to Healey Mills, to where it was deposited shortly after.
Sometime around mid December 2008, 08665 was made available for sale. Just after christmas, CF Booth's purchased the shunter, but it still sat languishing in the yard at Healey Mills.
On the 15th September 2009, 08665's reprive came in the hands of 66250, from where it was tripped to Ferrybridge behind the class 66, which was in at the head of the 8Z41 Healey Mills - Ferrybridge working. During this time, the 08 was officially de-registered from TOPS and its WNSO pool. With road transport arriving on the 17th, 08665 was loaded and removed from Ferrybridge, being taken away to Rotherham, to where it was deposited at CF Booth's shortly after.
Update: Latterly owned by the scrap dealer, a swap deal with HNRC was put into place. This involved the former Healey Mills resident, 08665 moving from Booth's to Barrow Hill. As expected, the move took place on the 17th December 2009, and 08665 was transported the short distance to Barrow Hill, where it was unloaded, shortly after.
