Whilst languishing at Wigan CRDC, 08666 was repositioned for removal by road on the 23rd February 2004. Two days later, its departure was secured and was taken away and deposited at Kingsbury for disposal.
After residing at Kingsbury for just over two years, 08666 finally succumbed to the cutters torch, being officialy scrapped in June 2006, with HNRC undertaking the disposal.
