Officially stored on the 2nd March 2004 at Motherwell TMD.
After EWS/DBS put 08670 up for sale, it was purchased by TJ Thomson's around the end of December 2008.
Originally thought to be Stockton bound, 08670 was resold on to Traditional Traction LTD, outbased at the Colne Valley Railway. On the 5th March 2009 at Motherwell, it was loaded onto road transport and taken south late evening en-route to Essex, which entailed a weekend stop over at the hauliers yard. Either on the 9th or 10th March, 08670 completed its move to the Colne Valley Railway and was unloaded at Castle Hedingham shortly after arrival.
