Whilst residing at Cardiff Canton, 08756 was stored on the 23rd September 1999, transferring into the WSXX pool.
Previously owned by RT Rail, 08756 was moved the short distance from Doncaster Wabtec to the West Yard on the 19th March 2004, where it spent some considerable amount of time.
Not officially a preserved loco, 08756 was an attraction at the Elsecar Heritage Centre, nr Barnsley.
Sometime on the 1st October 2008, 08756 left Elsecar by road, en-route to Whitemoor yard, March, where it replaced the Wabtec bound, 08754.
On the 6th April 2009, 08756 was removed from Whitemoor Yard by road, en-route to Dee Marsh, to where it was deposited the next day.
