08784 dead08784 is badly failed the main gear set between the traction motors has dropped due to the casings that hold them in place failing . so 08784 will be getting swapped over soon

Gaz, i've posted this bit in 08784's update. Does it look about right ??
The future doesn't look to good for 08784, as it has once again, been taken out of service. On the morning of the 2nd June, due to the casings that hold the traction motors in place failing, the main gear set has dropped, causing its breakdown.

08784 being taken away on friday poss to toton ive been told . but we may not get a replacement on friday .
the shunters dont last long at ketton because they have to be worked bloody hard up a 1 in 25 ! if u see how we have to drive them u would understand

There have to be trained on them first, so another 08 will be the answer. or maybe an 09.

09 and 20 would be no good at all class 20 is to long and to much swing over the bogies . a 09 has more top speed but not enough torque for us
