08799

According the the WNXX website, 08799 left Doncaster late on friday, being deposited at Goodmans Yard for the bank holiday weekend.

It destination is slighly unclear at present, although i'm going to have a guess at Ketton, mainly due to both shunters on site, being crocked.

only 08870 a keton is crocked

08784 is ok just passed a A exam

That was only a quess really, Gaz. My source reckons it's heading for Acton. The current pilot 08757, is due to be off to Toton pretty soon, so i'm thinking it'll utilise the low loader which is bringing in 08799.

ok well i rang RMS the other day and the boss reckons we will get the 085 from south wales as it doesn't need much work and we are getting desperate for a better loco .

08784 i drove on Friday and i was amazed how unresponsive the train brakes are on that on 08870 you only need it in first application down the embankment but 08784 you need it at second application

No clues to which one it will be then, Gaz.

As Martin said in a previous post, it sounds like 08523 from Onllwyn will be coming your way. All of Margam's 08's are EWS owned anyway, where as 523 belongs to RMS. And there are no other 08/5's in South Wales. So it looks likely to be that one.

Question is, what will replace it at Onllwyn  Shocked

RMS said they are sending a remote control loco down to replace the 08 that comes to us that is almost complete

Has been deposited at Fowey Docks today, replacing the crocked 08921.

My source is gonna get one big hefty kick in the crown jewels when i see him  Embarassed  Twisted Evil  Laughing

I hope RMS give you good training with the remote control or be prepared for shifted cranks.  Sad

Maybe it was planned to send 799 to Acton Yard until there was a greater demand for it at Fowey Docks. I believe there maybe some politics behind 921's failure.

08 757 has apparently been out of action for some time, so its probably the case that Acton no longer requires a shunter.

That's a good shout. As you know, Acton Yard mainly deals with bulk wagon loads anyway, and the 66's, 59's etc, will usually shunt their own trains. So having a shunter there, seems rather pointless.

I would imagine that it probably needs an exam of some short, and with it not being hardly used, it doesn't really seem worth the time and money to get it going again.
