Previously at Allerton, 08802 was put to use on the Manchester Metrolink revamp at Timperley on the 2nd July 2007. With work completed, it was taken by road to Doncaster Carr, deposited at the depot on the 7th August 2007.
With 08428 due for an overhaul, 08802 was transported up to to Goole Docks to replace the ailing pilot, in early January 2008. With just under 12 months in active service, on the 1st December 2008, 08802 was loaded and taken south by road to Doncaster Carr for a D exam.
On the 3rd February 2009, 08802 was put into store at Doncaster Carr. The next evening though, it was taken to Tinsley Yard by 09106, replacing the faulty 08623. Once there, 08802 was returned to traffic and the WSSI pool. Its stay in Sheffield only lasted two days, as it left Tinsley on the 5th, being deposited at Trafford Park later in the day. This move was for covering the departing 08737, which had gone to Warrington for repairs. On the 30th March, 08802 was back on the road again, departing Trafford Park en-route to Hoo Junction, from where it was deposited late evening. With the arrival of 08995 at Hoo, utilising the same transport, 08802 left by road on the 23rd November. Heading north out of Kent, the EWS liveried 08 was en-route to Toton, where it was unloaded the following morning ( 24th ). With assessment carried out, the shunter was put into store on the 2nd December, moving to the WNTR pool. Whilst at Toton, it is due to recieve the RC equipment.
