On the 24th September 2008, the proposed sale of 08955 to an unknown buyer, had fallen through. It was subsequently transferred from the WNSO sold loco pool, to WNXX.
In December 2008, EWS decided to offer quite a large number of stored shunters up for sale. Following this decision, just after christmas, 08955 was purchased by CF Booth's.
Sometime around the 6th or 7th March 2009, 08955 was moved from Bescot yard to the depot, in readiness for the arrival of road transport and its transfer to Rotherham. Late afternoon on the 18th March, it left the West Midlands, arriving in Rotherham later in the evening.
Update: After being dumped in the scrapyard complex for nearly 4 months, the scrapping finally got underway on 08955. On or around the 24th July 2009, work was complete and the 08 was officially disposed of.
