Whilst languishing at Stewarts Lane, 09009 was put out of its misery, and placed into store on the 29th March 2004. Repairs completed, it was reinstated back to traffic and the WSLS pool on the 15th April. On the 27th May though, it was once again transferred to WNTS and storage.
Ready to be moved on elsewhere, around late February 2009, 09009 was prepared for removal by road transport at Stewarts Lane. On the 10th March, it left South London by road, deposited at Toton later in the day.
