Previously operating at Newport ADJ and tripping wagons through Newport Station to East Usk Yard, on the 9th December 2008, was officially put into store at Newport Docks.
On the 10th March 2009, it swopped pools, transferring from WNTS to WNTR. Latterly at Newport Docks, 09017 was collected by the ADJ pilot 08567, on the 3rd May, to where they both headed West to Cardiff Tidal. Whilst at Tidal, the 09 was attended to, and with repairs completed, it was returned back to traffic on the 7th May. This co-incided with its transfer to the active WSSI pool, moving from WNTR.
