A couple of movesOne shunter move that hasn't been mentioned, is that of 08503. That left Heanor's sometime around December, and was taken to Goodmans Yard, obviously by road.
With the arrival of 08691 from Southampton, 08873 left Felixstowe on the 7th January by road, Trafford Park being the most likely destination.

With the recent purchase of shunters to the scrap man, the first of many moves happened yesterday, the 8th January. Both from the turntable area at Old Oak Common, 08694 and 08919 left by road, en-route to Rotherham.

Not had confirmation on this, but i think 08775 is the next to be moved. My source has told me, that it has been shifted from the rear of Bescot depot, awaiting to be loaded on to road transport. It may have already been loaded, waiting to depart on monday morning though.

It had gone Thursday at some point , could see the lorry tyre marks !
On Wednesday it must have been in & out of the shed ? also 08538 has moved ? Not noted inside ? Will look Friday night.

Is at the LH Group now Phil. It's placed right by the gates, on the line nearest the fence.
I'm thinking there has been another move, cause 08907 was missing from the shed today at Bescot. It is usually parked in front of the old steam shed, but couldn't see it anywhere.

On the 22nd January, 08900 left Margam, en-route to Stockton and Thomson's. Currently, it is at Goodmans yard, awaiting forwarding north.

As stated in another thread, 08587 was loaded at Margam on thursday, leaving South Wales today ( 30th ). This will be spending the weekend at Goodman's Yard, before heading off north to Stockton on monday morning.
Lastly, 08489 left Millerhill today, and was taken to Thomson's, the same day.

A little late with this one, because i wasn't 100% sure that the move had taken place. In fact, i'm not still convinced it has, but 08535 left RMS Locotec around the 18th January 2009. Its new home being the Corus steel works at Shotton.
Quite why it has moved there, i don't know. It can't possibly be for disposal, because it wouldn't be cost effective, as RMS has had previously, scrapped shunters on site at their Wakefield site.
I'm at a loss with this move, so any info would be most welcome.

Regarding the Milton Park bit. 08567 would be using the same transport as 09106 travelled down on, and there is rail access to where the shunters can be unloaded / loaded, so that makes sense also.

Motherwell pair, 08402 and 08670, both have left Scotland.
08402 was taken to Stockton, being deposited at TJ Thomson's on the 5th March.
08670, however, was also supposed to be heading for the North East, but was resold on to the Colne Valley Railway. This was loaded and removed late evening, also on the 5th, en-route to Suffolk. This move entailed a weekend stop-over at the hauliers yard.
Also, the two Rotherham bound Eastleigh shunters, 08510 and 08890, have also being removed by road.
They left Hampshire on the 6th March, both also having a weekend stop-over at the hauliers yard, before continuing their journey north to Booth's on monday.

Booth's have had another arrival, 08582 transferring in from Doncaster Carr. This move, i think, happened on the 18th March, the same day which it was de-registered from TOPS. This is only guess work on my part, but it would be most likely that the pool and road move, co-incided with each other.

Can confirm that it was deposited at Crewe EMD on the 25th March for tyre turning.

The two demics which were stored at Merehead, have been moved on. I haven't got an exact date for these movements, but it was in March.
08731 was taken by road to a scrap dealer in Frome, from where it's already stripped body was broken up.
08826, on the other hand, is now currently at the Mid Hants Railway. This also left by road in March, and it is due to continue its plight in storage, with a possibility of it being used as a spares donor for 08032.

For the sake of records, do you know the name of the Frome scrappy please?

I'm not 100% sure, but i think it was JW Ransome & Sons. These are situated about 6.5 miles east of Merehead.

Thanks, there's certainly a scrap firm of that name in Frome - J W Ransome & Sons Scrap Yard, Bunns Lane, West Woodlands, Frome, Somerset, BA11 5ES.

I'm led to believe that it's not your usual scrap yard, in the sense that they just deal with vehicles and such like. I'm pretty sure that they have broken up aeroplanes aswell.

08585 has been removed from Southampton this morning, destination unknown.
Also an EWS liveried 08 was reported on the M25 yesterday heading north for the Dartford Tunnel, so presumably 08703 from Sheerness or 08995/09005 from Hoo?

It's possible that it could be heading for the LH Group, as i believe it's been out of use for a short while.

This is a strange one, because another 08/09 was seen yesterday, traversing the M25 between junctions 10 & 11, heading south. This was in EWS, which makes me think that it was 08737. Presumingly, this was en-route to wherever the other 08/09 had left from. But, why take that route if it was heading towards Kent
Whatever was heading north though, i don't know. My gut feeling says it's 08703, only because of the current climate with the steel and such like. Maybe work has slackened off a little at Sheerness.

If that is the case then 08802 has gone south???

Right, to clear things up a bit, here's the list of recent moves, cause there has been a few
30th March
08737 - Warrington - Trafford Park
08802 - Trafford Park - ??
From what i can remember, Gaz mentioned 08802 was heading off to Ketton, once its stint at Trafford Park had finished. Don't know if this was the case though.
1st April
08995 - Hoo Junction - ??
08885 - Whitemoor Yard - ??
Both, i would imagine, are heading for Doncaster, being deposited at Carr and Wabtec respectively.
2nd April
08881 - Mountsorrell - ??
08585 - Southampton Maritime - ??
08881 departed on the 2nd, having an overnight stay, probably at Heanors. Was seen heading towards York on the A64, early this morning ( 3rd )
08585, i'm thinking, was probably en-route to the LH Group for repairs.
I've also had reports come through to me, that 08530 is at the Chasewater Railway for testing. This is got to be wrong. I've had positive sightings at Southampton Maritime, most recently as the 1st April. I'll pop in tomorrow and confirm what it is, but my guess would be 08891, which is due to leave the LH Group shortly. I'll be popping in there aswell, so i'll post the updates when i come back.
