D3255While on holiday in Norfolk, I visted the Colne Valley Railway to see the shunters there.
D3255 has been sold for scrap and is awaiting a move. Which should have been a few weeks ago.

Several of us thought that, but no 3255 remains a CVR loco.

Nope it isnt a CVR loco. It has nothing to do with the railway except being based there. As I was speaking to someone who works up there who was very helpful, in showing us around.
It has been sold for scrap, and awaiting removal

The majority of the shunters at the CVR, are owned by Traditional Traction. Who owns D3255, i don't know, but i'm fairly sure it isn't TT.
As for its future. One possibilty on why it is taking so long, is the transport company. Whoever is due to be hauling it to Booths / Thomsons / Ron Hulls, perhaps they have been told to fit it in when they can.
One other option, is it maybe involves a swap deal with 08587 at Thomsons. That hasn't been touched since its arrival ( or i don't think it has ), so it might be a paperwork issue, funds etc. We shall see

"I was driving out of the village of Stamford Bridge this morning towards York on the A166, heading the other way was a low loader and escort vehicle hauling a very heavily cannibalised 08 shunter, couldn't see number due to graffiti but looked like EWS livery, the rear of the cab was painted navy blue.... " was one post and the reply suggests
"Blue cab and graffiti on the rest sounds like D3255 ex Colne Valley for Thompsons?"
Anyone able to confirm please?

Given the desciption, it would be D3255. Strange way to go if it was heading for Thomsons though. Surely the A1/A19 would've been the much quicker and straight forward route

The only location i can think of, is the NYMR. If that is the case, perhaps they are willing to restore it back to its original condition.
The CVR though, they are saying that it will be swopped if the right loco becomes available. At present, there is nothing on the NYMR website, nor the CVR.

The exact description I've had is 'private site' so you're looking at another 08220 or 08628 situation I think - an obscure location that's going to be fun to locate

Wonderful
There seems to be conflicted reports here Si. I've been given info, that suggests that it will be swopped for another loco. However, they didn't state when, or what class it will be. They also failed to mention where the bloody thing is
Just have to wait and see, i suppose.

I may be wrong, but i very much doubt if it has gone to the NYMR. I wouldn't actually call that a private site.
Like Simon has said in a previous post, we are looking for somewhere like 08220 was based, or 08628 at Blackrod. I've had a look on Google maps, and Murton Lane has got various yards that it could've been dropped of to, but as you've said, it had already passed there.
There are one or two warehouses along the A166, where it could've been dropped off, so we might be looking at somewhere around there, Rob.

It isn't there. Got in touch with the guys there, and they hadn't a clue to its whereabouts.
I've had word from a very special contact of mine, that it is indeed at.......sorry guys, i'm sworn to secrecy. All i can is, that it was brought privately from Traditional Traction.
