Donc Carr locoHi All
Popped into Carr loco today and in the line of shunters to be seen from the car park was one UID in EWS red, looked fairly fresh too. Can anyone help ID this one please? The line up from l-r was 08569/08953/09202/08994/08664/uid/09101/08941.
TIA

I'm not sure, but either;
1. it was there and I hadn't read of it being moved elsewhere, or
2. it was elsewhere and someone said it was now off to Donny.

On thursday ( 13th ), it left Sheerness, but as of yet, i've had no confirmation of its whereabouts.
With Toton seemed to be taking over the shunter repairs, i'm guessing that it may have been unoaded there. Or, it could've been dropped of at Donny instead

My money is on 09001 as its got those high level pipe jobbies on the front and 09006 is still in its usual spot. Does anyone know if any of the DR 08s have these pipes?

There is a report today for Carr on another site which confirmed a sighting of 09001 at the Depot-I'm assuming this is still at the rear of the Depot with 09014-see attached.
http://i924.photobucket.com/albums/ad88/MartinHarrison/09001014.jpg
The correspondent also said there was an EWS liveried shunter out front with no number on it and confirmed this looked as if it had a fresh coat of paint.
09107 was positioned in Row C of the shed behind 09101(which has emerged)and a photo I have seen previously suggests this shunter has had a repaint from DG as part of it's exam.
The shot shows no number on the loco so possibly this is the shunter being referred to.

Hi,
Called into Doncaster today and saw the following;
08 428 in Decoy Yard
On the depot were;
08 941,994,569
09 101 and I presume 09 107 in the red EWS livery with no numbers on?
08 925, 09 001 and 09 014 at the rear of the depot.
37 401 was obscuring the other shunters.
Wabtec;
08 754,871,648,762,669.

37260-got the impression from your post of Donny shunter locations that 09105 was on the end of the line of 08's and 37's...ie:..in the line nearest the running lines.
Then in your most recent posting you have advised it's not visible.
Can you clarify-thanks Martin

Thats right, its at the end of the line of 37s.

|

Strange is that, both 428 and 495 are both showing as Mossend. Seems to be an admin error, as Mossend wouldn't need two shunters on site.

Oh yes they would. 08428 went north on trailer that dropped 08993 off. 08495 is at mossend on staff training for remote control operation.
08909 is now the operational pilot at Doncaster.

If you walk in.probably going to get stopped and once the bloke had seen you then his radar is going so chucked off the others.
Don't see too many'suits' on a weekend as you drive in-probably all down the dry cleaners getting a nice crease put in for the following week.

Unless they were management, they have no power to move people on
As Martin said though, going by car would be best. I would discourage spotters to venture in on foot.

CLB-09106 went off to Trafford Park a few weeks ago.
09107 is the shunter with no number in your shot of the line from the car park.
As you say,from the bridge all shunters in the yard are visible so 09105 would be where you stated and 37260 has the phot to prove it.
Seems like the weather/light you experienced would make a phot difficult...shakes or no shakes
