MountsorrelThe foot crossing at Mountsorrel is no longer accesable due to "Temporary Closure for Public Safety", there is fencing up completely blocking access.
However (we didn't have time this) there may be access from the opposite side. If you drive/walk towards Barrow-on-Soar station, (on foot take the right at Grove Lane) and by car take the right at Melton Road and carry on until you join Grove Lane. Then find Breachfield Road and the other side of the bridleway should be accessible from here.

I've never tried this place. Is it good for photography ?

Well it would have been before they bloody fenced it off!! 
We went there on Saturday with a view to seeing into Mountsorrel to see if any 66/7's or 66's were there and to see if the shunter was visible.
Also main line phots would have been great.
Dont know how "temporary" this closure will be
