Has it gone to Canton Depot for tyre turning?

I haven't a clue Martin. I recieved an email saying that it had left Tidal, but didn't say where it was heading to. It could be possible though, as it was spotted near junction 32.

Bit misleading is that. If you look at this one, it's dated the 18th November 2008, when Paul spent some time at Cardiff. It must be a typo.

Same here. I never managed to get there. Spotting on the footbridge was good though. Plenty of scope to grab a decent shot aswell.

08752 is now back at Tidal, following the completion of its tyre turning at Canton.

If you followed the 'Locoshed Directory' you'd end up on the footbridge with a grandstand view.
BUT
Getting into Canton over the bridge, without being noticed was like breaking into the jewel house at 'The Tower'
BUT
We locals would use the main entrance to the depot, the driveway between the SWML and now 'City Line' bridges at Leckwith Road - but you still had to run the gauntlet of the officeblock.

Low power and overheating from the new generator. Loco returned to Margam, power unit removed again and 08752's old auxillary generator was removed from 09003 and fitted to 08752. Loco desperately needed back at Tidal due to brake block work on 09017 and no labour available for double manning. Road transport collecting this morning, if the testing work is successful in the Knuckle Yard.

Some of you may have picked up some of my postings from last weekend to the effect that 60026 was run up to provide air, for the power tools which were used on 08752's work.

I couldn't say a lot about this move, it was potentially fireworks and it was in another way when it was fired up. Anyway I followed her back into Celsa this morning from Knuckle Yard and I'll post the pictures of the movement out of Knuckle Yard to its off loading at Celsa in the next few days when the dust settles and the remote equipment is reinstalled. The EWS Area Manager was well pleased to see it leave the Knuckle Yard for the final time. I guess he must have been on his fourth bank of ulcers.

Will it not go back to Margam then, if it fails again ?

Smile I would be very surprised if there were any further problems with 08752 as it was tested yesterday in the Knuckle Yard. 09017 needs brake blocks and also an F xam, so that'll be going to Toytown, joining 08466, 08757 and 08951. What an awful mess.  Crying or Very sad
