not our site thahkfully and if they say thats what they do then i dont know
block changes dont look that bad
Block changes are potentially dangerous without a pit. You obviously havn't done one. Tidal's are either done at Margam or Canton. _________________ Regards
I think we need to clear things up a little, because there has been a few moves just lately.
13th August
08393 - DIRFT - Bescot TMD( currently at the B'ham end of the shed ) 08907 - Bescot TMD - DIRFT
17th August
08730 - Glasgow Works - LH Group( deposited on the 18th )
19th August
08531 - LH Group - Trafford Park FLT 08873 - Trafford Park FLT - LH Group( still unconfirmed at present ) 08904 - Doncaster Carr - Wembley Yard( via Acton, tripped to Wembley on the 20th )
Also, still awaiting confirmation of 08445 and 09025's current whereabouts.
09106 reported north on the M1 this evening, just past J25 so looks like Doncaster.
Since the arrival of 08904, i didn't think it would be long before it departed Wembley. From what i've been told, it has been a bit problematic recently.

As I understand it, the 09025 info is indeed duff and is the result of confusion with 09004.
I seem to think the same thing. I'll revert it back to its original location then
One more move to announce, is 03158 ( D2158 ). This moved on the 12th August, from the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway, with its new home being the Great Central Railway at Loughborough.
HSE may well be taking a keen interest into 'man in a van' maintenance after one fitter suffered a 'major injury' which appears not to have been reported to them. In view of what has been said, I would like to see a copy of RMS's risk assessmnet, method statement and procedure for carrying out C xams on site. Don't forget that if the RMS man has an accident on your site then, HSE may well clobber your company as they have a duty of care towards their contractors.
If that is the case how come 85% of our rolling stock maintanence is done out of the back of our vans ! and all DBS fitters guess what come out to locos in a van. And if you have a perfectly good risk assesment covering the work you r doing plus your safe systems of work then there should be no problems . Personelly i would rather have a brake block hit me when laying on track than at reach out of a pit !

Thats a bit of a beastly move then ! Wonder if the other x Wirksworth one will follow ? _________________ You cannot beat a bit of Sulzer Thrash !

Personally, I prefer not to have a brake block hit me.
Lets hope that everyone is given an opportunity of working safely and where safety improvements are needed, they are implemented before an accident happens. _________________ Regards
Had a text this morning, saying that 08615 has left Craigentinny. Given it is one of Wabtec's hire locos, i initially thought it was heading for Doncaster, but it was later seen around the Chesterfield area on the M1.
Heading for the LH Group? I do hope so, still need this dude for sight
Also, following an overnight stop-over near Warrington, 08954 has reached Toton, arriving this morning from Allerton.
This weekend is shaping up to potentially be a shunter-fest for me with the new arrivals at Barton and Toton,a chance of picking up a couple at Donny and a walk around Neville Hill....and the sun should be shining -Martin _________________ Why do farmers put gates at the muddiest part of the field ?
