All class 37/47 were taken out by rail. As for the track yes it is still in place but DBS track engineers have secured all roads out of use and removed all point handles, and they will not even let the Class 56's be moved, and no it cannot be cut on site as this would mean crossing a operational line to get to where it is.
Not quite Paul. 47793 left by road, en-route to Mangapps on the 1st April 2007. But i'll let you off with the rest though
If no access can be gained for the 08 & 56's, why did DBS offer the shunter for sale. Or was this restriction put in to place after the sale was agreed ?
Seems a strange way of doing buisness, and i'll bet CF Booth's isn't to happy about shelling out for something he can't have. It also seems to be that DBS have shot themselves in the foot, as they will just rot away until they fall to bits, which in turn encourages vandalism and tresspass. Looking at some of the close-ups on fotopic, the 08 is already daubed with graffiti, and has a couple of cab window smashed. Saying that though, the 56's are in a much more worse state than the 08.
Positive sightings(inc photos)of 08888 at Toton and 08742 at Doncaster from Locoscene members-Martin _________________ Why do farmers put gates at the muddiest part of the field ?
Post on Anglia gen reports that 08460 moved from the Colne Valley to Felixstowe yesterday as reserve for 08484/511 while 08915 has been removed 'up north' today after sale by Traditional Traction.
I'm told that 08915 is heading for the Stephenson Railway Museum on Tyneside.
Also told that 08345/728/736 have arrived at Booths in the last few days and that 08622 is due to move from Trostre to Teesport next week.
Typical - We don't have hardly anything for days, and then they all come at once
The Long Marston moves have took me by surprise, but not unexpected. I did hear whispers about the TT moves though, but nothing was confirmed at the time.

Ta for all the info Si
And they were two of the things I was planning to go to Long Marston for next summer. Bother.
Looks like I will be heading for Middlesborough on the 21st then, when the mighty Reds are in town!

This confirmed on the WNXX latest news:-
Four locomotives have been delivered to Booths, Rotherham for disposal, all from Long Marston, two of which have been scrapped already, see below. Moved north by road yesterday and today have been 08345 08728 and 08736, the three non repaired ex Deanside Transit 08s, and 20215 weighed in by HNRC.
Disposals...
Broken up almost immediately on arrival at Booths are 08728, stored from Motherwell September 1997, and 20215, stored from Toton's FEFN pool back in March 1992. Both were in advanced stages of cutting by this afternoon with little remaining of either, RIP.
08915 reported on the A1 at Newcastle this morning so overnighted somewhere. Further report that its destined for use on the museum's santa specials so that possibly suggests it may just be hired in?? Although the report on Anglia gen definitely said sold by TT and not returning to Colne Valley.
