That's another shunter gone AWOL. It's still showing Bescot on TOPS as of today, as is Daventry's 08632, and thats been gone since the end of September. It ain't the quickest of machines, is it
I've had word today, that 08393 has joined the 2 rows of demics at Bescot Yard. Still yet to get a positive sighting though, but it would explain why it hasn't been seen in the depot area.
I've located 08393. It's still at Bescot, but it's not with the demics by the Down Tower. It's parked between some engineers wagons in the Down Storage Sidings, about half way between the Tower and Sandy Lane. That's quite an unusual spot to dump a loco, so I can understand to some extent why it's gone un-noticed - although it's easily visible from Sandy Lane bridge.
You can't see the number from Sandy Lane though. For that, or to get a photo, you need to go down the track which leads diagonally off Friar Park Road, about 50 yards from the Sandy Lane junction. This path leads away from the railway, but then doubles back to the right and takes you right up to the perimeter fence of the yard. 393 is parked right in front of where this path meets the railway, and the loco is about two or three roads from the fence (about 8-10 yards away).
393 is parked between an MHA and MTA on the north end, and a rake of Seacows on the south end. It reminded me of the old days when you'd often see gronks in transit parked like that in the middle of freight trains.
If this is 08393,was positioned there when I went to Bescot on 03/10/2009 but was too far away/angle too acute to identify from the bridge at the bottom of the yard

Thanks for confirmation of ID-Martin
