Sometime in December 2008, EWS made 08510 available for sale. Subsequently, just after christmas, it was purchased by CF Booth's.

On the 23rd February 2009, it was moved out of the depot area, to the sidings adjacent to Eastleigh station. This was to await forwarding to the nearby yard, so it can be loaded onto road transport. On the 6th March, 08510 was removed from Eastleigh Yard and taken north to Rotherham, via a weekend stop-over at Allely's yard. Eleven days after leaving Hampshire for Booth's, 08510 completed its move north on the 17th March, following its mid journey stop at Studley. On or around the 24th July 2009, the inevitable happened, and 08510 was finally scrapped. Being disposed of at CF Booth's, it was rumoured that a further sale was on the cards, but this failed to materialise, hence its disposal.
